Her mini muse! Kat Von D and her husband, Leafar Seyer, have welcomed their first child, a baby boy.
Celebrity Babies of 2018“Meet our beautiful baby boy, Leafar Von D Reyes,” the proud mama captioned an Instagram photo on Sunday, December 2, that showed her husband cradling their newborn, who was dressed in polka dots, while a black Silver Cross baby carriage sat behind him. “Thank you to all our beloved friends+family, fans+followers for your patience in us announcing his long awaited arrival! To be honest, my husband @prayers and I want to take the next 40 days [the 4th trimester] to focus on the baby and our amazing relationship transitioning into amazing parenthood — so, please excuse us if we’re not on here as much for a little while. Just know we love you all and thank you for all the words of love+support!”
Back in September, the tattoo artist, 36, exclusively revealed to Us Weekly her plans to “have a natural, unmedicated, drug-free home birth in water.”
The inspiration? Watching Ricki Lake’s 2008 documentary, The Business of Being Born. “It was life-changing,” Von D told Us of the flick. “After that, we ditched the doctors and found a midwife. We did a lot of research. We’re excited.”
Famous Celebrity Pregnancies: Baby Bump Hall of FameVon D and Seyer (real name: Rafael Reyes) exchanged vows in February. Three months later, the makeup guru announced her pregnancy. “I’m really lucky I have a husband who is really involved in the entire process,” Von D gushed to Us at the time of her author hubby. “Not by choice, you know, I don’t force it on him. He’s super excited to be a part of everything. I’m lucky.”
Even more, the Kat Von D Makeup founder hadn’t suffered from backaches or heartburn while expecting, and told Us she had “no symptoms other than this big belly.”
Celebrity Weddings of 2018Despite her pregnancy joy, Von D previously thought that motherhood wasn’t in the cards for her. “No children for me. The funny thing is that I’ve known since I was 7 years old that I was never going to have kids,” she told Dr. Drew Pinsky in December 2017. “I always imagined myself as this worldly, traveling, gypsy lady. I love children, kids love me, but I think I’d make a really good buddy. I don’t know if I’d be a bad mom, but it’s not what I want. I don’t want to put my body through it.”
The L.A. Ink alum was previously married to tattoo artist Oliver Peck from 2003 to 2007. She was also engaged to Jesse James in 2011 and DJ Deadmau5 from 2012 to 2013.
