The Masked Singer judges Nicole Scherzinger, Jenny McCarthy, Ken Jeong and Robin Thicke seem to be getting closer to guessing some of the celebrities on this season. Round two of the second season began with the Wednesday, October 16, episode that featured performances by the Flamingo, the Black Widow, the Skeleton, the Leopard, Thingamajig and the Butterfly.
One of the most shocking moments of the night — literally — was when the Butterfly revealed that during her rehearsal of “Living On A Prayer,” she was electrocuted by the stage set-up.
“I’m OK, but I was like, ‘I don’t want to be dead on a prayer, I want to be living,” she joked after the fact.
During the episode, the Skeleton gave us some new clues about his identity, revealing that he had felt “overshadowed” his entire life. “But then in my career, I realized that being in the background let me be more instrumental in orchestrating those around me,” he revealed.
After the character’s performance of “Are You Gonna Be My Girl” wasn’t enough to win over the crowd, we learned the celeb behind the mask is Paul Shaffer.
“This is nuttier,” he said of the show compared to his experience with David Letterman. “It gave me a chance to try songs that I never would have thought I could pull off in real life.”
He also said he was “studying” Martin Short to try to throw the judges off!

Song: “Footloose”
Video clues: She said she comes from humble beginnings and started out with “absolutely zero connections." She was discovered by a “wizard” who led her to her dream in Hollywood, leading the judges to believe she’s an actress.
Flamingo’s clue: “When I was a kid I wanted to be a doctor. I even attended a medical training school.”

Our guess: As was our guess last week, Bailon. She attended the High School for Health Professions and Human Services.

Song: “Stitches” by Shawn Mendes
Video clues: The Leopard said he “wasn’t always wanted” in the past and used his talent as an “escape” from reality. He said he lives his life in color. He also revealed he has kids, who he tries to be an inspiration for. He tells his kids that you can always flip the script on what society labels you as, leaving us to believe he is known for multiple things.
Leopard’s clue: He once served fast food.

Song: “Before He Cheats”
Video clues: Since she was young, she's always had to have a “squeaky clean” image to the public, but always felt out of place doing so. She feels like on the show, she can reinvent her image into something more edgy and sultry.
Black Widow’s clue: “I never went to prom but I pretended to.”
Judges’ guesses: Lea Michele, Raven Simone, Christina Aguilera, Tatyana Ali
Our guess: Raven Symone; she went to prom in For One Night, and had to had a clean image for Disney Channel.

Song: “Are You Gonna Be My Girl?”
Video clues: He felt overshadowed his entire life, including in his career. He hinted to instruments, saying that working in the background allowed him to orchestrate his environment. The Skeleton also said he’s lived a great life, but his appearance on the show is the first time he’s been a headliner.
Skeleton’s clue: “I was once inducted into the National Black Sports and Entertainment Hall of Fame.”

Song: “Rainbow”
Video clues: Singing is his first love and talked about how his parents implemented good values into him as a kid, including not to “run with the bulls.” He also talked about how his “magic” comes from within. Thingamajig said his song choice reflects his sensitive side.
Thingamajig’s clue: “My darkest moment was when I went to rehab.”

Song: “Living On A Prayer”
Video clues: The Butterfly has allegedly been in some sort of controversy that led to isolation. She was a household name back in the day. However, something happened and people started to talk badly about her. This event led to “breakups, breakdowns and hibernation”. There was also a background clue that seemed to tie the celeb with London, England.
Butterfly’s clue: “I was good in school but a rebel outside of school and I even rebelled, and I got a butterfly tattoo.”
Judges’ guesses: Fantasia, Mel B, Twiggy, Leona Lewis
Our guess: Michelle Williams (from Destiny's Child) — she has a butterfuly tattoo!
