Like night and day! Beyoncé and Jay-Z welcomed their twins, Sir and Rumi, in June 2017, and grandma Tina Knowles Lawson says they’ve already got distinct personalities.
Celebrity Babies of 2019“The girl is really just going to rule the world, and the boy is kind of laid back and chills like the dad,” the fashion designer, 65, told Us Weekly exclusively at National CARES Mentoring Movement’s For the Love of Our Children Gala on Monday, February 11.
And when it comes to the couple’s 7-year-old, Blue Ivy Carter, Lawson added: “She’s the Queen B. The second Queen B.”
The “Formation” singer and the “Family Feud” rapper have kept their two youngest children out of the public eye since their arrival. In July 2018, Beyoncé shared a rare photo with the siblings on her lap — the first time she’d showed off Sir and Rumi since they were only one month old.
Celebrities Who Secretly Welcomed ChildrenLawson admitted that Beyoncé and her younger sister, Solange Knowles, who shares 14-year-old Daniel with her ex-husband, Daniel Smith, are both “amazing parents.” Between her two daughters, the Destiny’s Style author has four grandkids and occasionally babysits Daniel and Sir.
She also shared a story from back when she was raising Beyoncé. “At seven years old, she did a talent show,” Lawson told Us. “She was very shy and she went out and got a standing ovation, and she said, ‘I just want to get my trophy because I’m hungry, and go home.’ And I’m like, ‘You don’t know if you won.’ But she did.”
Celebrity Dads Who Had Children Late in LifeLawson is proud of the way that both of her girls have grown up. “They are truly authentic and themselves, no matter what,” she said. “I taught them to change the world, don’t let it change you.”
